Rockin Rockaway weekend...

This weekend was frickin Awesome!!!

Me and Muuzi spent the weekend at Palace of the golden horses, where they hosted the rockaway press conference and all the international acts. The hotel was heavenly, the detailing around the hotel was so intricate and beautiful.. I was totally geeking out about all the little horse statues and carvings..

Love. Love. Love.

Anyway the reason we were there was so Muuzi could work on Rockaway..

Rockaway itself, was super hectic.. Luckily i managed to get into the press conference to meet The Used in person.. And i got to see them play an acoustic set. Honestly, They are seriously the nicest bunch of guys, and lead singer Bert is one super hilarious dude.

The Used acoustic..

OBS boys and The Used..

Even Bert can't resist the Muuzi charm. :P

On Rockaway day, Muuzi had to get up super early to collect One Buck Short's new album.. So i just hung out around the hotel and went swimming..

Alia, Ezani and mama came by and hung out at the hotel with me and had some room service before the concert.. Since Rockaway is a 12 hour festival and i'm insanely pregnant, we didn't do an all day fiesta which i'm used to.. We got to the venue at 8 just in time to see All time low's last two songs..

It was really fun to be out with friends again. It was especially fun to see my Muuzi shine like the rockstar he is.... I kept beaming thinking of how much i am so proud of my baby daddy. :)

All in all.. the night was a blast, not to mention a giant success for OBS and the organizers.. All the acts did an amazing job performing, I especially enjoyed The Used' super stellar performance... i enjoyed every second. Even the wet rainy bits. :)

Great company, Great music + Baby Daddy rocking out like a rockstar = One awesome night.

Proud mama and my super awesome baby daddy. ^_^

Can't wait till next year!!! :D

A friend in need is a friend in deed.

Malam ini saya jumpa my Special Friend Abang Akak Abang(??) Brian Molko.

Hurrah! Been waiting for Placebo to come to KL since forever!

Tis going to be So Epic!! :D

Who's going? Anyhow! I'll probably just see you guys there!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee~

Hey YO it's NEYO!

I have the BEST FRIENDS in the world entire world. nuffsaid.

Met up with Mashi and Jaja for lunch in Sg. Wang at 3pm on a lazy thursday evening, when suddenly Mashi hands us two RM140 tickets to see NEYO that night.

I freak out.

Jaja stares in shock. Then we both squel in JOY!!

Mashi is the most WONDERFUL FRIEND IN THE WORLD!! :D Muuzi was super jealous. :) i could tell. :P

Regardless to say, that the show was epic. and neyo was AMAZING!!!

I really hope he comes back someday. Then Muuzi can go to. :)

Fireflies.

I am SO FREAKING ADDICTED to this song!

It's been on repeat for the last half an hour, and i still LOVE IT!

Owl City is very HelloGoodbye-ish but the lyrics are even more BRILLIANT. I've been listening to the rest of the album, and i've loved everything so far.

Sheer Poetry!

I love it, i love it, i love it!

the one man band, Owl City.

I WANT OWL CITY IN MALAYSIA!!!!!!

Speaking of concerts, anyone interested in going to MXPX Allstars? Call me.
Tengah cari geng. hehe. :P

UP-to-DATES

Yes, it is i.... The girl who never updates her blog... MUAHAHAHHAA!!

Been busy lately with money issues, mother issues, friend issues, unemployment issues, wedding issues and trying to be an awesome girlfriend/bestfriend/daughter/sister/granddaughter/niece. phew~

Right now realizing that most of the problems i stress about are not really MY PROBLEMS.. so now i have decided to embrace a 'YOU-screwed-it-up,YOU-fix-it' policy.. and i must say the sun shines a little brighter (and hotter) everyday because of that. :)

then again, it could just be global warming.

-totally off topic- speaking of global warming, i went to get one of those cute eco friendly bags the other day... cost about 10 bucks (i refuse to believe the planet cost that much but anyway). The sales girl who sold it... wait for it... put it in a plastic bag for me. IRONIC or PLAIN IDIOTIC?

sadly, i keep forgetting to bring that bag with me when i go buy stuff.. and end up getting a bunch of plastic bags anyway.

'Who's the idiot now?!' said the sales girl mockingly in my mind.

Did u notice some places are now charging for plastic bags now? or that some places like 7Eleven don't even give u a plastic bag unless u ask for one. Even if u buy more than one thing..

I had to carry a big 1.5L coke bottle, a snickers bar and a loaf of gardinia in my handbag today... cuz i didn't want to look like a planet killing bitch.

-totally off topic again- Did you guys check out the line up for ROCKTHEWORLD 9!!!

OMG super awesomeness!!! It looks like theres going to be an acoustic stage judging from the singer-songwriters on the lineup.. Azmyl Yunor, Rashdan Harith, Zee Avi, and Liyana Fizi.. too bad no Yuna, or Rendra Zawawi. tsk.

sidenote, it was really annoying of people saying that One Buck Short didn't want to play cuz they berlagak (cuz they have rockaway), which is so not true, apparently the decision was made last year to not play this year and let other bands have a chance. And true to form this year a lot of NEW and some NOT SO NEW bands are playing like John's Mistress, Brainhead, 40 winks and Stonebay!

weirdly, Meet Uncle Hussain as well as Azlan and the Typewriters are both playing... which to me would be super cool to see how the former band singer will compete with his replacement.

Oooo goosebumps!

more line ups here!

True to form, i had forgotten what my real topic for this post was about. :| oh well... maybe i'll update it when i remember :D

What a load of Bullcrap...

No Muslims at Malaysia Black Eyed Peas concert

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Muslims in Malaysia have been barred from attending a concert by U.S. hip hop band the Black Eyed Peas sponsored by Guinness which is owned by the world's biggest spirits group Diageo.

The move comes after a Malaysian Islamic court sentenced a 32-year Muslim woman to be caned after she was caught drinking beer in a hotel and at a time when an opposition Islamic party has moved against beer sales.

The concert, part of celebrations of Guinness 250th birthday, asks on its website (www.arthursday.com.my) "Are you a non-Muslim aged 18 years and above?" and if the response is no, access is not allowed.

Muslims account for 55 percent of the 27 million people in this Southeast Asian country and are barred from consuming alcohol although the rules are regularly flouted, especially in big cities like the capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia's Guinness Anchor which sells Guinness and other brands here had sales of 1.2 billion Malaysian ringgit ($340.6 million) in 2008.

Even without alcohol, foreign bands are subject to scrutiny. Earlier this week, the Pan Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) said it wanted Danish band Michael Learns to Rock banned from performing as it would cause immorality.

Since 2007, PAS, the country's second largest political group measured by party membership, has campaigned against performances by the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne.

Dirty Funk.

I heard this awesome song called Dirty Funk on the radio... and i had to have it.

Apparently it's by a guy named Steve Appleton. (Any relation to The Appleton sisters from All Saints not yet clarified)

To my suprised i found a Ryan Cabrera look a like... which i really wasn't expecting. Steve Appleton is so jambu! But i love his music... so his jambu-ryan-cabrera-ness is forgiven.

Been listening to a lot of Electro/Rock/Pop type 'boy-bands' lately..

Current faves include:

Metrostation.

They have been around for awhile and i love love love them!!

Forever the sickest Kids

Kinda new to the scene but they got some catchy tunes. Me Likey!

MGMT

Just by putting this picture up i can already hear mashi yelling 'Andrew Vanwyngarden i punya!!'. But apart from that the band has some seriously awesome songs. I love love love!!

Van She

How can you not know who they are?! I've been hooked since Heineken Green Room (Nov 08!)

Boys Like Girls

I MISSED THEM AT WORLD STAGE!!!!! Aaaaaaaa!!!! sedih gila! They were the main reason why i wanted to go to world stage. But i missed them!! Shit! Asal dorang main awal.. damnyuh MTV!

Cobra Starship

Technically not a Boy-band since they have a girl in the group but they deserve props as one of my current favorites. The only thing good about Snakes on a Plane, was the theme song plus My William Beckett from the 'Academy is' was in that video!. Been in love with them since then.. Currently 'Good Girls go bad' is my fave repeat in my Ipod. :D

3Oh!3

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!!! I can begin to tell you how i'm addicted to these two!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE 'Starstuckk'!!

If i talk about all the bands that i'm currently stalking this list will never end.. ^_^ so i better end it and get back to work.

Owh and selamat berpuasa semua! :D

I'm Leaving to....

Jgn jelous. ^_^

Hi Cik Adik,

Dedicated to all my MYSPACE 'fwens'.

OST BOHSIA: jangan pilih jalan hitam
by James Baum (hehe, Jaja) & Doul (hehe, Mashi) feat Hani (dunno who this is, tp apparently dia bukan BOHSIA)

That's it!!

Just saw the AMERICAN IDOL FINALE SHOWDOWN.

Adam Lambert might win, he nailed all three rounds (But then so did David Archuletta last season)

Somehow, i still wish Kris Allen would win.

But that final song really... haih, cannot go.

So i really think Adam's gonna win. ^_^ Go ADAM!!

Owh, on an unrelated note, You are all not invited to my VR showcase this monday.

PREDICT IT!!!!

Who will be the NEXT AMERICAN IDOL????

I'm so super excited, i can't wait to see the final showdown! It's gonna be FREAKING EPIC!

Is it gonna be, Adorable Kris Allen?

The Country boy from Conway, Arkansaw, who puts his own spin (very Jason Mraz-y) to his performances? Don't you just love his version of Heartless last week?

OR

Amazing Adam Lambert?

The stage performer, with 'the pipes' and killer stage presents. But is America ready for the a Gay Idol?

Whats your vote?

I'm love them BOTH!! But i think Adam is a better performer vocally, but Kris is super creative with his arrangements, and at this stage, anything could happen. Can't wait for the final showdown tonight!!

Don't mess with the Meester.

I was just checking out Leighton Meester's new single 'Good girls go bad'.... Well, it's actually Cobra Starship FEAT. Leighton. But I love it all the same.

It's very similar to Brittany Murphy's - 'Faster kill pussycat'... Which is also a rockin' song.

Another awesome track you just should check out is by Malaysia's very own Zee Avi, finally out with her new single from Brushfire Records(LA)

Thoughts?. :)

Vote for SUNBURST 09

TUBORG is currently hosting a local talent showdown for a spot to perform at SUNBURST.

I'm supporting FURNITURE.. cuz i think they are unique and really different, and also My Alang is their Drummer. :) Other bands battling for the spot is Harmacy, Muck, Deserters and loads more.

Come on and vote for your favorite band!
