To the loves of my life...

It's Valentines Day, and since people make a big deal about celebrating it these days, i think it's a time to reflect on the love aspect, not the history of it. Besides, it's not the day that matters, but the reminder that you have special people in your life and you should acknowledge, and tell them you love them.... before it's too late.

And since i'm spending this day in the hospital watching over Muuzi and Mahdi as they sleep, it makes me feel so grateful that they are in my life.

For better or for worst. We are family. :)

Happy V Day.

A place to call Home.

Have you ever wanted something so badly that you can't sleep at night because you are too busy thinking about it?

Thats how i feel about this house that we saw a couple of weeks ago in Taman Ukay.

I wouldn't say its my dream home, but somehow i feel that its destined to be the place where my family will make new memories.

The place where Mahdi learns to ride his first bike, or the place where we have many many BBQ parties, and Open House every raya.

As a kid, my mother moved a lot, so renting became our way of life... But its always been a dream of mine to have a house to call my own. A place i could paint, any color i like. Or mount shelfs or pictures on the walls, and not having to worry that it would void my deposit. Somewhere i would be able to stay for more than just 2-3 years... But possibly spend 10-15 years in one place.

See, My dreams aren't so big. Im not really asking for a lot.

Anyway, right now, my dream is in the hands of some very important loan officers at a bank. Pls pray that they approve and make my dream come true. :)

Update: Sad to say the loan fell through, because the area is blacklisted as a landslide area.
How Upsetting! This house had such a cool layout plan and was so unique, it was near to Taman Melawati, and had really good schools nearby. Sigh. Looks like we are back on the search again.

Selamat Hari Raya!!

Selamat Hari Raya folks, did you notice we are in the papers!?

Might not be a big deal to Muuzi, but it was terribly exciting for me and Mahdi. Ok, maybe Mahdi doesn't really know what is happening. But I was SUPER EXCITED for the both of us! haha. Of course this isn't Mahdi's first newpaper appearance, remember the Drypers Pool Party?

Check it out. :)
Mooky
Mooky
Mundzir Abdul Latif, or Mooky as he is popularly known, is the 30-year-old frontman of award-winning local rock band One Buck Short and while he certainly rocks on stage, he is quite the soft-spoken musician in real life. This year, he celebrates Hari Raya with his wife Ayesha Frances Adam, 27, and with their beautiful eight-month-old son Muhammad Mahdi, at Mooky’s hometown in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
What’s your best childhood memory of Hari Raya?
It would be when my grandparents (on my father’s side) were still around. I would be around nine to 10 years old then. Celebrating Raya then was so much fun as all the family members would return to the “kampung” and congregate at my grandparents’ house including my cousins and extended cousins as well.
What preparations do you make for Hari Raya?
Our Raya preparations have changed drastically with the arrival of our baby. This year is we celebrate Raya at my hometown so I’m really excited to meet my aunties, uncles and cousins and catch up with them. We didn’t take much time to do the preparations, we’re pretty much done with our baju raya. Mine is black while our son has a little white jubah(robe) which my mother got in Saudi Arabia (where my parents are currently based). Ayesha has a bright blue baju she bought in Jakarta, Indonesia, during our recent trip to visit my brother who resides there. So no, we don’t have any colour coordination this year!
What is your favourite Hari Raya dish/kuih?
A special rendang made by my late grandmother. Fortunately, my aunty in my hometwon is continuing with the tradition so I’m really excited to taste it this Raya. I don’t have any particular favourite kuih for Raya, butkaripap (curry puff) is my all-time favourite.
What are you currently working on?
Right now we are busy organising Rockaway 2012 (one of the biggest rock festivals in Malaysia this year). The last one we did was Rockaway 2009. Other than that, the band has just released a Bahasa Malaysia album called Kampung Glam, and there’s a new video, too. My bandmates and I are also working on our English album that we plan to release next year.

It feels like ages since i last had a holiday...

Ok, i went to penang a few weeks ago.. And i dont have a real job, so y do i need a holiday?

Firstly, penang didnt count as a holiday, because we were there for a wedding, and there was more relative visiting, and less lounging by the poolside. Secondly, everyone needs a break from their everyday routine once in awhile.. :D even if tht routine includes afternoon naps and a whole lot of tv watchin.... Sometimes its nice to have an afternoon nap, and watch tv in a different state, preferbly a state by the sea.

So much beauty

But seriously, we had so much fun in Port Dickson! We stayed in Avillion PD, which is a gorgeous seaside hotel/villa, mama got to come with us, Mahdi got to spend time with his grandparents, aunties, uncles and baby cousin Dalmar. And me and Muuzi got to go late night swimming in the 24 hour pool! We bought giant floppy hats, and ate satay. It was just what we all needed.

Happy Birthday to meeeeeeeee

I honestly feel so blessed lo be so loved..
It's my birthday today... And honestly, I was feeling a bit bummed out about it. I felt old, and didn't really feel like celebrating my day, so I settled for having lunch with Muuzi, just the two of us... Like old times. :)

Later Mashi came over and we hung around for a bit... Because I was planning to go to tok's house for dinner. But then Muuzi said he was gonna take me out to dinner but it would be a little later.

By 8 pm I was still waiting, and he said he might be even later... So by now I was a little bit miserable, I didn't want to go out for my birthday in the first place. And now I'm all excited and he's stuck in the office. Talk about my luck. So me, Mashi, mama and Mahdi ended up going to OU anyway since Mashi was craving for some Carls JR. (which was weird, cuz she hates fast food... But I was too bummed to care).. Honestly, I didn't mind where we ate, as long as no one makes me stand on a chair and makes me sing (TGIF, 2 years ago on my 25th.. The horror)

We got to Carl's jr and I found a good seat in front of the counter, but Mashi wanted to sit in the back, and I got up and moved, and to my surprise there was Muuzi, and wandabomb with cake and a bouquet of balloons!

I was shocked, I can't believe I fell for it. :) best birthday ever.
I was with my closest friends and loving family. I feel so blessed. I can't explain it.

Penang Weekend!!

I've been so excited to finally get away from KL, and go to Penang for the weekend to balik kampung and attend my bestfriends wedding, so Wandabomb and Mashi came too.

Us at R&R

Plus, it's Mahdi's first trip out of town.... and it was a great experience. He slept most of the way, so it was a comfortable journey, although it could be because we had to switch cars with Izhan cuz we couldn't fit all of mahdi's things in the trunk of our myvi.. Hehe

Visited Muuzi's Tok Wan

On Saturday, we went to Jaja's wedding.

The weekend was so much fun, we had a blast.
