Letter to my Son #1.

My Dearest Mahdi,

It's amazing to think that it's only been a year since you came into our lives. Since you feel as apart of us as any of our limbs, we can hardly remember our lives before you came.

I remember last year, on this very day when i first heard you crying, i was so overwhelmed with emotions that i, myself started crying... then i finally laid my eyes on you. You were powdery white, perfect except for a tiny scar on your forehead.. others would have been freaked out by this scar, but to me you were still the most beautiful little man i had ever seen. Plus, Tok Mama reckoned the scar made you look like Harry Potter. :)

Ayahanda was so happy to meet you, he was so speechless (which is rare for Ayahanda), and there was a funny incident with your poop, which happened that night while he took care of you because i was resting, it will be my most treasured memory forever.

In this ONE year, We’ve taught you about life, how to clap, about words, music, play, what love and happy means, and about important things such as how to walk and not eat strange objects from the floor.

In return, you have taught us how to be stronger, be more patient, laugh more than our stomach muscles can take, survive on minimal sleep, love deeper than we ever thought possible and pray harder everyday that tomorrow brings us closer together.

You’ve opened our eyes to what real beauty and real happiness means, and our hearts are bursting because you’re in our lives.

Soon you will be old enough to talk, walk and make friends. Remember to always share your toys, be kind to others, even if they are mean to you, keep being awesome like you are now, and never loose your spirit and zest. :)

So, As you grow up, always remember that even though sometimes We are busy, know that we are ALWAYS thinking of you. We are both working hard to give you the best life possible because me and Ayahanda love you so so very much.

Arrrrgh, it twas a Pirate Party!!

Party day is finally over!!

Thank you everyone for coming, i hope you had a good time, despite the guest of honor being in a mood. huhu

Somehow it turned into a potluck thing, and we got loads of food... no complaints cuz the food was so great and yummy!!

Can you believe that Mahdi is turning 1 in less than 2 months?

Has it really been almost a year? That is so CRAZY!

Anyway, i've been looking at some things to get Mahdi for his birthday, and i am so spoiled for choices! I simply can't decide!

Pirate Party Planning!

I know it's early, but i've decided to start planning Mahdi's birthday party!

Reason being, his birthday is on the 31st of December, which is a Monday, so i'd have to have the party on the 1st of jan, on tuesday.. which means most of my friends are going to be out partying the night before, and tired/hungover on that day. So i'd have to give them ADVANCED warning, so they can plan their day appropriately.

Or maybe i could have the party on the 30th, which would be Sunday.. hmm that actually would be better.

As i said, i'm only starting to plan it. So i haven't worked out the details yet. But the one thing is for certain is that we are having a pirate theme pool party, which is TOO CUTE!!

Isn't it cute? looks simple enuff.

I gotta say, i'm going to try making it more cutesty pirate, and not so skulls and bonesy. Also I'm thinking of making bandana's and eye patches for the kids, and maybe tiny little vest? (too much? we'll see)

One thing i know without a doubt is that i am going to make Mahdi a Smash Cake! That epic moment of messiness of Mahdi becoming a big boy, no doubt. I'm having a smash cake! :D

9 Months!

Time flies when you are having SO MUCH FUN!!!

I can't believe Mahdi is already 9 months old.. and somehow i'm also shock that it's ONLY BEEN 9 months since he's been in my life, cuz i can't picture my life before him. :)

Honestly, I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful and understanding little baby.

Everyone who meets him are always surprised at how laid back and funny he is. He doesn't pull tantrums (so much), he doesn't fuss... and he smiles all the time, it makes my heart melt. :)

He's the most wonderful baby in the world (i might be biased.. cuz he's all mine.)

Best husband ever!!

If throwing me a surprise birthday dinner yesterday wasn't enuff, he also organized a surprise birthday lunch at the Bee in Publika with MORE friends and family. :)

My amazing husband even tracked down my best friends, Zetty and Yan from SMPW to join us. :)

Then later that night we went to Daikayama for more fun with friends,
and my FIRST official night out since the baby.

Then, if THAT wasn't enough, this morning i was surprised with this.

Birthday present from husband and Inlaws.. :)

I AM sooooo insanely spoiled BLESSED by my husband. I thank god everyday that he is by my side. He is my rock, and i am so lucky that he chose to marry me. :)

I honestly feel so blessed lo be so loved..
It's my birthday today... And honestly, I was feeling a bit bummed out about it. I felt old, and didn't really feel like celebrating my day, so I settled for having lunch with Muuzi, just the two of us... Like old times. :)

Later Mashi came over and we hung around for a bit... Because I was planning to go to tok's house for dinner. But then Muuzi said he was gonna take me out to dinner but it would be a little later.

By 8 pm I was still waiting, and he said he might be even later... So by now I was a little bit miserable, I didn't want to go out for my birthday in the first place. And now I'm all excited and he's stuck in the office. Talk about my luck. So me, Mashi, mama and Mahdi ended up going to OU anyway since Mashi was craving for some Carls JR. (which was weird, cuz she hates fast food... But I was too bummed to care).. Honestly, I didn't mind where we ate, as long as no one makes me stand on a chair and makes me sing (TGIF, 2 years ago on my 25th.. The horror)

We got to Carl's jr and I found a good seat in front of the counter, but Mashi wanted to sit in the back, and I got up and moved, and to my surprise there was Muuzi, and wandabomb with cake and a bouquet of balloons!

I was shocked, I can't believe I fell for it. :) best birthday ever.
I was with my closest friends and loving family. I feel so blessed. I can't explain it.

It's MAY!

A lot of things to look forward to in May..

Firstly, Mahdi is officially 4 months old today!

Secondly, hopefully will celebrate my FIRST ever 'Mothers day'. :)

Thirdly, going to my best friend Jaja's wedding in Penang!

Forth, since today is holiday, im going to go see The Avengers with the boys! Hurrah!

And lastly, something i'm not excited about, is that i'm turning 27 at the end of this month. yikes. :(

My BIG BOY!

Baby boy is 4 months tomorrow!

Here's a few things you should know about Mahdi. 

He likes to wear hats (even though Tok Mama hates them).. he also loves to play with his rattle.

He has started eating solids, but doesn't like apple sauce, it's too sour. 

He loves to go out, and shop! But then again, this could be my fave thing... :P

Mahdi also like to read.... and eat books. :))

His BFF, is a Mr Bean Teddy that his Ayah bought him.

He loves to cuddle with his blankie.

He also love his aunty awesome.

He usually wakes up with a case of crazy hair.

He and his cousin Dalmar, are going to be best buds. But for now, he's still to little to play.

He loves to take pictures with his Mak and Ayahanda. :)

The big 3-0!!!

Muuzi turns 30 today!! 

He's told me about how we'd spend his 30th, ever since we were just friends back in 2006..... he said he'd have a kickass party, with music, lotsa people, in a cool club, and we'd all party the night away.

As it turns out, he's spending it in bed cuz he has the flu... the only music playing is the sound of a 2 month old baby screaming, and i don't think we are leaving this house anytime soon to go to a club. :P

 I did attempt to get a party together for last night (sunday), it wasn't a crazy club party, but a nice dinner with lots of friends would have still been better than nothing... But unfortunately, Muuzi had a wedding to go to tonight... so that plan had to be scrapped..

In the end, we just had a family lunch, and at a last minute got the boys and mashi to come... since most everyone else was still K-Oed from attending the Future Music Festival Asia the night before.

We had lunch at The Bee in PUBLIKA solaris dutamas, and had some delicious burgers and Malteser Chocolate cake that i got from Raindough (i simple love their homemade cakes!) for dessert...

After makan, we decided to take a stroll in the mall, because none of us had ever been there before... honestly, other than the graffiti art and all the hipster crap, the mall sucks. Boo.

Mundzir, I know you don't really read my blog.... but i'm so glad you are in my life. Looking forward to the next 30++ birthdays that we'd celebrate together as a family. :)
