Mahdi VS. Roseola Virus.

Poor boo is sick again..

He somehow managed to contract the Roseola Virus, which is a viral infection similar to herpes (erk?!), Here's some info on the Virus.

Roseola is a viral infection that commonly affects infants and young children. It involves a pinkish-red skin rash and high fever. Roseola is common in children ages 3 months to 4 years, and most common in those ages 6 months to 1 year. It is caused by a virus called human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6), although similar syndromes are possible with other viruses. The time between becoming infected and the beginning of symptoms (incubation period) is 5 to 15 days.

The first symptoms include:

Eye redness
Irritability
Runny nose
Sore throat
High fever, that comes on quickly and may be as high as 105° Fahrenheit and can last 3 to 7 days
About 2 - 4 days after becoming sick, the child's fever lowers and a rash appears. This rash usually: Starts on the middle of the body and spreads to the arms, legs, neck, and face.
Pink or rose-colored, Has small sores that are slightly raisedThe rash lasts from a few hours to 2 - 3 days. It usually does not itch.

Treatment

There is no specific treatment for roseola. The disease usually gets better on its own without complications.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and cool sponge baths can help reduce the fever. Some children may have seizures when they get high fevers. If this occurs, call your doctor or go to the closest emergency room.

Thankfully, doctor says it'll go down in a couple of days. But still, i hate to see my boo sick. :(

Baby Thrush..

My poor little Mahdi boy has a yeast infection...

I started noticing some white spots inside his mouth while we were in PD.. at first i thought it was milk..

So when we got back i tried cleaning it but it didnt seem to come off. So i brought him down to klinik and the Dr confirmed that i was indeed a candida (yeast) infection. So anyway, got some oral gel meds to help... hopefully it will help.

Luckily, it doesnt seem to be bothering him much. He's still a happy little boo.

Cracked to hell...

I never thought i would ever feel a worse pain than the contractions a had while in labor...

I was wrong. 

Warning TMI:
While trying to get accustomed to breastfeeding Mahdi, i somehow managed to get cracked nipples..

I swear.. it's the most painful thing ever.

Everyone tells you how painful giving birth is, but no one bothers to tell you how you will feel like absolute shit afterwards. It's come to the point when Mahdi cries for milk... i wanna cry too.

It's a real struggle cuz i am adamant on giving Mahdi breastmilk for as long as i can.. but it's only been a few days and i feel hopeless and want to give up already. :(

At least i can go home today... and Alia's buying me some Buds nipple cream thats suppose to help heal them. I really hope it works cuz i'm about to reach my pain limit.

Edit: So far this sort of works for immediate relief... but it's kind of gross cuz you have to let it dry up before putting on a bra. It's not like i have all the time in the world to go around topless, trying to dry out my nipples. So in this case the breastpump was the best cure.
