Tremors felt in Terengganu By Zarina Abdullah
KUALA TERENGGANU, Sun:
SEVERAL highrise buildings in the State capital had to be evacuated following tremors believed to have resulted from the Sumatran earthquake at 9am today.
Employees at Wisma Persekutuan, Yayasan Islam Terengganu and the Kuala Terengganu Hospital rushed out of the building for fear that the building would collapse.
At the Hospital Kuala Terengganu, patients from the maternity wards and intensive care units were moved to Pusat Harian situated about five kilometers away. However, they were allowed to return at 1pm.
Kuala Terengganu fire and rescue department officer Mahayaadin Mohd Din said the station received two calls from HKT and Yayasan Islam Terengganu at 9.08am and 9.20am before rescue teams rushed to the buildings.
"We believed that the tremors were caused by aftershocks from an earthquake in Indonesia," he said.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports have put the death toll in Malaysia to be at 26 and 60 people injured as a result of tidal waves.

that's crazy!! i thought malaysia was free from such natural catastrophies???
well neway this earthquake is said to me the world's biggest since 1964.....crazy shit!
feel like the end of the world.... maybe it's just to many natural catastrophy horror movies for me..
it's like the day after tomorrow......well the thing is people died!! like something that wasn't supposed to happen in our country happened... and unsuspectingly people died...
that's so scary!!....
