My poor little baby boy has somehow contracted 'baby acne'..

I got it checked out and apparently very common for babies.. And will clear up on its own. But its still heartbreaking to know he inherited my bad skin. :(

Google said it should clear in a couple of weeks and it doesn't hurt him. Good thing he's none the wiser.. Cuz he's as happy as ever :)

Soon he'll get better and have super smooth baby skin like usual... yay

Parenting 101

Like seriously, in this day and age there isn't really any excuse to say 'i don't know how to do...' something.

At least not if you have a working internet connection.

I've learned almost everything i need to know about my pregnancy and these past few weeks of motherhood, online.

Mostly from google search and websites like WhatToExpect.com... I have to say WTE was extremely helpful during my pregnancy. It had a lot of tips and information about what would happen from week to week during the span of the pregnancy.

Since the baby, i found that i needed more visual help.. because there is only so much you can read.

So lately youtube has been my greatest liason.. Check out these super helpful videos on breastfeeding and correct burping techniques (something i seriously fail at..).

It's been a slow weekend... unfortunately for us baby boy has started showing signs of fussiness and crankiness, which might be because of colic (hope not tho..). :( Today i noticed he had a lot a gunk in his left eye.. i panicked, but thanks to google i found out that it's completely normal and apparently it's just a blocked tear duct, which will clear up itself in a few weeks.

I seriously couldn't think of what i would do without google.

Thank you technology.. you make motherhood a tiny bit less scary. :)

Two weeks!!

woaaaaahhhhhhh...time is flying like lightning!!!

I don't know whether it's because of the lack of sleep, or cuz we're having so much fun!But it's been a crazy TWO weeks!

Baby boy is getting so big now, he finally opened his eyes.. and has this puzzled look when we talk to him, which is so cute and irresistible!

I LOVE YOU soooo much baby boy!! It's crazy how much i do. :)

I'm so proud! Baby boy is 1 week old today! :)

He's getting bigger and bigger everyday.. and he's growing up so fast!

It's been a crazy week.. and i think that i've cried more in this past week than i've ever cried before (tears of joy and happiness, as well as tears of frustration, sleep deprivation and stress).

Whatever it is.... I love you so much baby boy. You make everyday worthwhile. :)

The Delivery Story

I had been having these painful but apparently 'mild' contractions for the pass two days.. And as a result i hadn't had a good nights rest since.

I was a bit upset that my due date had passed with no sign of the baby.. So i had gone to sleep early (if u can call waking up every few mins in pain sleep.)

Anyway, i was almost asleep when i felt this searing pain in my abdomen.. Muuzi (who was in the living room) rushed into the bedroom, cuz apparently i had let out a scream of pain in my sleep..

Muuzi decided we should go to the hospital.. Again.

I wasn't too crazy about the idea of being told to go home after another round of poking and proding.. But i figured the hospital would prolly have painkillers that could b useful.

Sidetrack for a bit...
On our way to the hospital i told Muuzi to drive slowly, because i didn't want to rush there only to be told to go home.. So we took a slow drive to Selayang and were just about to turn into a flyover when suddenly, almost like slow motion.. There was this guy on a superbike that fell a few feet from us, his bike did cartwheels in flames in front of our car. While the driver skidded into the divider.. We were both so shocked and wanted to stop, but we had already entered the flyover.. And i was still having painful contractions. Luckily i saw a few cars that were behind us stopped to help the motorcyclist.. I keep thinking if we had been speeding that night, without a doubt, that cartwheeling superbike would have hit us for sure!

We arrived at the hospital about 2am, i was poked and proded as usual, but the suddenly the baby's heartbeat monitor started beeping and all the doctors and nurses started panicking around me... Nobody was telling me why it was beeping, which was annoying.

From the chatter, i realised that i was 4cm dilated and the baby was ready to come out, but the real panic was because they were discussing whether they should call Dr Roslan at 2am to deliver my baby.

Ps: Turns out, Dr Roslan was the head of the entire OBGYN department.. Meaning he was everyones boss.. And they seemed terrified at the thought of waking him up at 2am to tell him the news.

Finally they asked a senior dr (not Dr. Roslan) and decided to burst my water bag and wait for me to dilate somemore before calling Dr. Roslan at a more godly hour.

When my water bag was burst, it was uncomfortable... Hot liquid was streaming down. I started panicking... 'omg this is finally happening!'. The nurses told Muuzi to get my things, cuz we were finally going to the labor room. Muuzi had his calm face on, but i could tell he was freaking out.

We waited in the labor room for a few hours then at 4am a female Dr came in to check on me... Turns out i was still at 4cm so she gave me oxytocin to induce the labor and make dilate faster. I did not know that this meant harder, faster, stronger contractions... At one point the contraction was so painful that i literally wanted to scream out loud.. Muuzi kept me calm and told me to concentrate on my breathing (which helped a lot).

Anyway, that went on for another 4 hours when finally Dr Roslan came to check on me at 8am. I was so relieved to see him, unfortunately he didnt have good news.. I still had not dilated and was still at 4cm. He said i would need to have an emergency C Section immediately.

As soon as we agreed, i was prepped and rolled into the operating room. I was terrified and more so when i found out Muuzi couldnt be there with me.

I considered having a General Anaestetic.. So i wouldnt know what was going on but went with a spinal tap instead. I was shaking, from the fear, the still painful contractions and the fact that i was suddenly naked in a room full of people... Plus it was really cold.

As soon as the anaesteolgist did the tap i was numb from the waist down. The pain from the contractions completely stopped, it was so relaxing that i almost fell asleep. About 30 mins into the procedure i felt this jerking feeling on my abs then i heard Dr Roslan announce that the baby was out using Forceps.. A few seconds later i heard this faint cry of my baby.

Unashamed of it, i got all choked up and started crying as well (discreetly). I was relieved, but at the same time i was overwhelmed. OMG I have a son! I looked around but i couldn't see the baby, which made me want to cry even more. Suddenly the nurse came next to me and showed me this tiny pale little man. He looked at me thru his tiny sepet eyes and i said 'hi mahdi boy' :) (not an ideal story, but soon after that, i threw up... prolly due to fatigue and the fact that my stomach was stil opened on the table..)

I had some complications during the surgery, apparently my uterus did not contract normally so the placenta didn't come out naturally like it should. Dr Roslan had to take it out manually, and i lost a lot of blood... So after everything was done, i had to have 2 pints of blood transfused. Baby boy had a tiny scar on his forehead because of the forceps used.. but Dr. says it will go away by itself.

My labor was a long, painful and some parts were funny... but at the end of it, i got the most amazing little 'bundle of joy'.... But would i want to go thru all that again for another baby?

Attack of the boobs.

It's day four and i am still surviving motherhood (cheers!)

Despite the intensely painful nipple problem i mentioned earlier, i am still breastfeeding..

I'm simply adamant to follow thru on this even if at the end of it my boobs deflate and will probably be worst for wear.

I did not however, expect the pain to get worse. :(

I woke up in the middle of last night to rock hard boobs... and a overwhelming amount of pain on my back. After a quick google i found out that i am currently going thru the 'engorgement' phase of breastfeeding.. basically it's when you run of on collestrum and start having real milk, which then fills up your breast like inflated water balloons (but less fun).

My mother scrambled to find the Tommee Tippee breastpump we had bought a few weeks ago (luckily) in preparation for the birth.. after a quick read of the instructions, i started pumping away the pain...

To my surprise, the nipple pain was relieved as well.. which was a blessing. Don't get me wrong, it still hurt like hell, but at least it was manageable.

I managed to express two small containers of milk, and then went back to sleep.. only to be woken up a couple more times that night by Mahdi..

By 7am this morning, i literally felt like dying. Forget the major abdominal surgery i had, my breast had forsaken me and were burning up. Those last few late night feeds took it's toll on my already fragile nipples and basically left them tattered.

I woke up to Mahdi crying for more milk (which he does every hour).. and i started crying too.

I felt like i should be able to be stronger than this, and give my baby everything he needs.. i was distraught. Finally Muuzi said we should use the milk that i expressed the previous night, at least that give my breast a few hours to rest and heal. I was reluctant to try.. because i had read about nipple confusion, and how newborns should wait at least 4 weeks before being introduced to bottle teats.. but i was desperate.

Mahdi took to the bottle like a champion, and i have to say i was relieved to not have to feed him for awhile.. My plan now is to alternate between a bottle and the breast so that he gets used to both, and i can get some rest and have some time to heal.

I simply cannot explain the feeling i have right now.

It might seem sappy beyond words but it's just an amazing miracle that has made all the shit i've gone thru in the pass few months worth it.

My baby boy is finally here, and i couldn't be happier.

So without further a due, i'm extremely proud to introduce my little angel,

Muhammad Mahdi Latif bin Mundzir.

born on New Years Eve, 31st December 2011, 9.44am at a healthy 3.1kg's.

First family picture ever. :)

I am currently overwhelmed by motherhood, and relieved that everything went well.. details on the delivery process coming soon. :)

Hello there Due Date.

URGHHHHH!!!!

I haven't been able to sleep for the pass two nights due to these increasingly painful contractions. I literally feel like crap right now.

Hoping this will all end soon, since today IS my due date after all.Muuzi took the day off work to be with me just incase anything went down... plus we had our Dr's appointment in selayang so he would have had to take half day anyway.

Anyway, that afternoon we made the trip to Selayang Hospital (for the 3rd time this week) to meet Dr. Roslan, who will be delivering our baby (hopefully soon).

To my dismay, he told me that the contractions that i am currently having are actually very mild (wtf!?) and i am definitely in pre-labor right now, so it's gonna take about a day... or three.

Honestly, my body just feels like it's going to self destruct... i know i am not suppose to complain so much and be positive.. blablabla.
But i've been stressing out about the due date for what seems like weeks now.. and for it to finally be here and have to be told to wait a little longer.

Arghhh.. i am tired, restless and stressed out of my mind.. and frankly i am starting to worry that everything will go terribly wrong. :(

Urgh..

U know how i've been complaining about not getting my Braxton Hicks contractions and not really knowing what a contraction feels like?

I take it back..

I finally started getting contractions around 2am this morning.. And daaaammmnnn it hurts.

As per Dr's advice, we drove straight to the hospital in selayang and after another rigorous round of poking and prodding, i was told to go home.. Yet again.

I can't say i wasn't disappointed to be dismissed again (i might have cried.. a little, due to frustration). I was reassured that the baby is fine, and it won't be long now.

Am getting so anxious.. And these contractions are getting worst and more painful. I don't know how much more i can take :(

I am meeting with my OB, Dr Roslan on friday and hopefully we'll have better news by then.

The False Alarm

After spending a few droning hours in Selayang Hospital to get checked out.. it was concluded that i AM currently in early labor.

But it's really early, so it might take a couple more days.. urgh.
I really feel discouraged... like this is never gonna end.

After days and days of complaining about when the baby would actually show up... I've been stumped!

Warning TMI:
i just found some blood on my undies.. (since i haven't my period in awhile.. I was freaked!)

I googled it and found out that 'bloody show' is one of the many delightful sympthoms of labor.. Which means in 24 hours (if all goes well) im going to have a baby!!!!

I am now suddenly freaking out. Yet excited!

Yet scared out of my frickin mind!! Weirdly i haven't had any contractions yet.. Just his usual poking and prodding.

But then again i still don't really know what a real contraction feels like!!! I'm gonna wait this one out and see what happens then. Will update soon!!!

We had a long long day out with Azlee and Izhan yesterday and had a rocking Christmas Eve.

We went to Midvalley Megamall early at about 11 am and watched Mission Impossible 4 and Sherlock Holmes back to back. Then we had Carl's Jr. for lunch..

Practically all phones have built in cameras nowadays... so i've basically regarded compact camera's as a non needed item. Their bulky, take up space in your purse and there's no point in them now with phones and in my case my ipod touch replacing their worth..

The calm before the storm...

And you can be sure the storm is coming.... but question is when?

The waiting for the perpetual 'ball to drop' is driving me insane!

I know i'm not due for a couple more weeks, but still i feel like i have done everything i can to prepare for it but i have a feeling like something is still missing. I'm so bored... i hope the baby comes soon, it's like waiting for puasa to be over so you can finally celebrate hari raya. :)

On a brighter note, the nursery is finally done!! :D So happy..

Last night Muuzi took out his 'big daddy' tools and built the drawer we got from IKEA.. i gotta say the room looks pretty great now. :) All we need now is MR BABY to move in.

Pregnant Muses..

I'm currently toying with the idea of getting some pictures taken of me being pregnant.

Would be an awesome idea if my face wasn't as swollen as it is now... but still could be a cool keepsake to look back on..

Obviously i don't expect myself to look like Giselle, Heidi or Miranda... but you get the gist of what i'm going for right?

This is the closest thing i have so far to a decent bump picture... but it would be nice to have one that wasn't taken by myself.. in a public toilet.

Things i'm looking forward to...

The days are passing now faster then ever nowadays... almost like magic.

I'm on constant contraction watch, yet i'm not really sure what a contraction feels like... i tried reading about it but most of the blogs and forums all have different ideas of what a contraction feels like. But, most of them agree that when we get them, you know immediately.

But in my case, i have a rather high tolerance of pain and practically feel discomfort most of the time now and it's really starting to toy with my head... 'wait... was that a contraction? or is the baby trying to tear up my uterus from the inside?' and then it stops and a day later, still no baby.

However thru the constant anxiety of waiting to pop, i decided to focus on all the things i'm looking forward to doing when i am no longer pregnant (honestly, i feel like i've been pregnant forever)...

Here's a list of the 'Things i'm looking forward to'...

Sleeping/Rolling on my tummy... i miss this so much, it's so unnatural.
Eating a big helping of RAW sushi... with extra ebiko and fresh salmon!! yummmm..

Jumping... Running... Dancing... things i wouldn't miss until they said i couldn't do it anymore.
Climb ladders and lift heavy objects on my own.. and not wait around helplessly for people to decide to help me (which might take AEONS)
Getting a JOB!!! Going back to work is my ultimate goal... even with a 7 month gap in my resume, i really, really want to work again... for fear i might lose my mind completely.
Wearing JEANS!!!!!!! OMG, how i miss the felling of wearing a rusty, tight fitting pair of jeans... it's insane. After this i'm swearing off ALL ELASTIC PANTS.
while we are on the subject of clothes, i can't wait to buy something that fits me normally... something that doesn't need to be stretchable would be nice..
relatives/strange people-i-dont-know not being able to touch my belly sesuka hati mereka.. just because i'm sharing my body with another person, doesn't mean i wanna share it with you.
I'm looking forward to not being pregnant... and oddly looking forward to being treated like a person who nobody cares about not like i'm made of glass and will shatter into a million pieces with the slightest mistreatment.
But lastly, i'm just looking forward to meeting my little man, who's been keeping me up late at night with his kicking and moving around... i already have a feeling he's going to be a handful but i'm sure seeing him for the first time will make the last 9 months of not doing the things above, worth it.

Although i have a couple of weeks to go... i have a feeling that i might be celebrating a birthday sooner than expected. :)

The unexpected...

I had the shock of my life today when Mashi told me one of our friends just had a baby... So unexpected.. but i suppose i've been so caught up in my own life that i haven't really had time to keep in touch with all my friends. I must do better in future. :)

So anyway today me and Mashi made our way to HKL to welcomed little Adriana Lisa into the world...

Today i'm celebrating the 3rd year anniversary since me and muuzi decided to upgrade our friendship 3 years into a real relationship...

Sometimes you gotta get take a chance on something great... of course you probably won't know it's that great at that moment, but how will you know if you don't try.

When i think of the road i didn't take... it scares me.

I'm so thankful for everything i have.. and i'm so thankful i have Muuzi.

Eventho he's in Bali now... and i'm here in KL, but i figured it's not this one day that counts but more the days in between that counts :)

Everyday... i'm shuffling

Everyday is another day that the due date just looms nearer and nearer...

It's just freaking me out... the excitement of it finally being over and i can finally start 'BEING' a mother. :) Honestly, i still don't know how i'm going to be as a mom...

Am i gonna be a cool mom, an overprotective mom, a strict mom or all around smother-er.... i honestly haven't figured it out, so we'll probably play it by ear.

Anyhow, i just really, really, really wanna meet my baby boy.. i feel like i know him already, but it would be nice to actually see him, instead of just feeling him kicking me. huhu.

One thing i fear is losing myself in the process... i've seen more than one case of women that i know who have kids, and basically give up everything they are and just become 'mak orang'... I really do not want that for myself, and really, that scares me a little..

But i guess we'll have to wait and see... wont we?

KPJ Antenatal Class

Yesterday (Saturday), me and Muuzi experienced a day of learning in KPJ Selangor Antenatal class...

The class is held for first time parents like us to learn everything we'd need to know about the birth process, breastfeeding, baby grooming, and just answering any question we might have..

It's only about RM80 percouple, and i found the lectures very resourceful, but unfortunately was distracted by Muuzi falling asleep every 5 mins. With the RM80 you pay, you get breakfast, lunch and tea breaks... as well as a goodie bag with a bunch of useful pamphlets, printed notes and a free box of baby soap (sponsored by Johnsons)

The nurse giving the seminar was a 65 year old lady with a teaching degree and a masters... so she thought she was pretty big stuff.. she kept sharing intimate details about her life with us, eventho no one really wanted to know. But she was definitely resourceful, that is for sure..

The best part was when she started showing us videos for breastfeeding, and a gruesome video of a woman giving birth and having a episiotomy (OMGaaaah, the horrror!)... thru it all, i honestly still haven't decided on a birthing plan.. they all look equally horrifying.

After the 8am - 6.30pm class, me and Muuzi had to rush off to Saujana Resort for his Ex-bandmate Hafiz's wedding ceremony... newly weds Izal and Leng were there as well, since the rest of the boys of One Buck Short were in Kuching.

I seriously can't get over how big i've gotten recently... like how am i even upright is a miracle.

A few more weeks to the due date... and we still have so much to figure out.

I'm thinking of delivering the baby *naturally* in Selayang Hospital, and honestly that's about as far as my planning has gotten.

*Naturally* may involve some heavy narcotics... at this point i'm not sure how bad the pain will be, so let's not be all heroic and rule out drugs just yet.

Lost and Found..

So we went to the baby doctor this morning, everything looks fine and dandy.... we saw his face clearly for the first time, and i'm pretty sure he'll look a lot like Muuzi... but we have to wait to see if i'm right.

Anyway, after our appointment we had lunch with the boys at Berjaya then Muuzi sent me home before he went back to work..

At home, i finished up some freelance work and spent the rest of the day cleaning up the bookshelves... then i found this cd with all our prewedding pictures on it. Ahhh... memories. :)
I absolutely love our prewedding pictures... mostly because we were relaxed and they were shot in KLPAC (which i love!). Our actual day wedding pictures were a bit more rushed and to think of it i don't even have a picture of myself and muuzi posing by the titiwangsa lake (where we got married) in our pink ensemble.. Boo! :(

I knew this would happen.

As soon as i started pressuring myself to blog, i don't blog at all. My brain freezes and i can't seem to type...

So i'm gonna do myself a big favor and SCRAP the 30-Day blog challenge to a later date (maybe starting the first of December, or January, or May.. we'll see :P).

Besides, it's not like i don't have things happening in my life to keep this blog updated as it is... in fact i have PLENTY to blog about...

Like seeing Zee Avi LIVE with my sister and the boys, last thursday....
and me ~~buying~~ receiving my first car....
not to mention, our dear friend Syed Zikree's wedding last sunday....

and of course no post would be complete without something pregnancy related, like packing my first ever hospital bag, and a entire post where i bitch about leg cramps!!

I woke up early this morning in fury of excitement because today, I get my own car...

Albeit i didn't buy this car, with my own money... it's better because someone loves me enough to buy it for me. Anyway, doesn't make it any less mine. Besides, i've made it clear that when i start working again, i'm going to take over the car payments.. which i think is more then fair.

Anyway, since Muuzi was working late on friday.. getting him to wake up on saturday morning was difficult. But finally we were both up and ready to go.. even mama wanted joined us to go pick up the car.But something weird happened when we got downstairs to our condo parking lot, the space usually inhabitant by Muuzi's Orange Satria NEO was already replaced with a purple Myvi.... yup MY PURPLE MYVI.

On top of that it was decorated with strings of glittery boas and a big ribbon.I was beyond surprised, because as i've said many times, the man isn't very discreet... but this time i was truly a surprised.

yes, it's purple and i insisted that it comes with a touchscreen GPS (so i will never get lost.. teehee)

Words cannot describe how lucky i feel today, and how i feel so blessed to be with the person that i love and still have the things i want... All i need now is to install the carseat and wait for my baby to arrive so we can take him jalan2.

Die Stretch marks DIE!!!

Urgh!

I was so proud i made it thru 8 months with out getting stretch marks, varicose veins or feet swelling..... then suddenly out of NOWHERE, i noticed these red and blue bruises on my hind legs and underbelly.. pretty convenient hiding spot since im not entirely flexible right now to be able to check it out properly.

No need to tell you that i practically bathed in moisturizer after i found them... Hopefully in time it'll heal and go away.... oh dear god i hope it goes away... huhu.

One more month to go... I'm terrified yet excited. Can't wait to meet Mr. Kicks-a-lot.

Quack Attack!!!

Got up super early today since i knew i had a million and one things to do today...

Unfortunately, 'some people' did not get the memo and wouldn't wake up... hence leaving me to obsess and plot the day's activities to make up for the time we lost..

First off we had to go to the condo admin office and get the letter of approval to use the poolside area... and eventho we booked it like weeks ago, it still took them almost a hour to give us the papers we needed. So bloody irritating, like i wasn't frantically off schedule already.

After eons of waiting, finally got our paperwork done.. and rushed off to Tesco to buy supplies for Muuzi's famous chicken wings (which i have never tasted before but i hear its yummeh!)... then finally had lunch around 4pm, at which point i was already waddling about like a duck (ironic, but then again expected since i am 8 months pregnant u know..)

But i'm so glad my search for rubber duckies is over! I found these darlings at Tesco and they were only about RM7 perbag. SCORE!

My fave is the little Pirate Ducky n Bow tie Ducky! So cute...

Currently all Muuzi's boys are having a boys night in, just chillin, marinating some chicken, and watch Conan, the barbarian... So i'm gonna turn in and have a good nights rest, so much to do tomorrow!!

Muuzi and Syed mixing up some chicken... (don't worry, hands are super clean.. ngee) Can't wait to taste it tomorrow at the party.. weeee!

Hemorrhoids from Hell

Caution: This post may involve TOO MUCH INFORMATION... and filled with GROSS details.

OMGness, i don't even know where to start... i recently fell victim to the horrors of pregnancy hemorrhoids...

I was in agonizing pain last night, and there wasn't really much i could do to relieve the pain. I could barely sleep all night, my ass felt like it was on fire... a feeling i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

By this morning, my condition did not change much, so Muuzi marched me to see my doctor.

Anyway, thankfully Dr Kamaljit fixed me up.. and gave me a bunch of meds and tips to get thru the next few days in one piece.

I'm still revving in pain.. so i'm just going to rest and relax for the rest of the day.

PS: Dear fellow future moms, if you are unlucky enuff to contract hemorrhoids like me... GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!

It's embarrassing as hell, and not to mention gross... but apparently if not treated, it gets so much worst and can create complications during child birth.

All Systems Go!

I LOVE, love, love going to Dr Kamaljit (my baby doctor in bangsar)...

She always eases my fears, and makes me feel like i'm doing a great job incubating my lil baby.

This time around was an especially exciting visit, since we saw the baby had reached the proper position for delivery.. so we can be assured, he's coming any day now!!!

That being said, after being super annoying and obsessing about the baby shower, the 'organizers' have finally decided to let me in on the whole planning phase. I'm so psyched!!!

I've been on overdrive all day... being creative and making the invites, place cards and such...

My biggest and only problem is the darn guestlist, because most of the things we plan to do is much better suited to a smaller crowd of people. Unfortunately, with me and mundzir each having tons of friends and relatives, it'll prove quite a challenge to scale down our guestlist down to 30 people.

And to think we thought we were past this problem when we were doing our wedding guestlist, which from 200 people, became close to 400 guest. huhu..

Sigh, what to do... my future baby is so popular. :P

Never has Lil John's words made so much sense to me before... almost 32 weeks into this pregnancy and i'm starting to feel all it's side effects at one go.

Sleep Deprivation *check*
Constipation *check*
Acid Reflux *check*
Bloating *check*
Swelling *check*
Anxiety *check* *check* and double *check*

and newest and most recent, hormonal gift, along with increased blood flow to the skin and increased metabolism, it makes me sweat like a linebacker...

Urghhhhh... i can't wait for this to be OVER!! Only 8 or according to my Dr might be 6 weeks to go!!!

ps: that still have not made any difference in that stupid room... it's too hot, theres no fan, the boxes are too heavy, i'm so freakin helpless and it's starting to piss me off.

Insomnia and Baby room obsession..

In case you didn't already know this, one of the awesome pregnancy side effects that come with anxiety, mood swings, fuzzy memory, bloating and acid reflux... is insomnia.

Yay fun.

So not only am i already cranky, moody and sore all over.... now i can't sleep properly. So unfair.

I think the insomnia is mainly caused by the anxiety of things to be done... like the baby shower, and getting all the things on the list, and making the storeroom into a nursery, and giving birth and parenting anxiety in general.....

ps: This is unfortunately only half the mess.... which i could take
panoramic picture of the entire mess i'm dealing with. -_-

Plus with Muuzi working all weekends, and mama disappearing every so often.. i'm left obsessing about the nursery by myself, and honestly it's driving me crazy that i can't carry all these boxes and move the cupboard by myself. Urgh.

I seriously recommend god make super strength one of the side effects of pregnancy, instead of making us so freaking fragile and weak. -_-

It's so freaking frustrating... i find myself just standing at the nursery door and staring at the mess trying to figure out where am i going to put all this junk... and on top of this drama, i'm so tired since i can't sleep. Which is making me more pissed off than anything.

I seriously pity the fool who crosses me today.

All alone on a sunday afternoon, Mama went teaching and Muuzi is at the office..I'm starting to feel like today is Monday..

Muuzi has been working crazy hours all week long, coming home at 3-6am, working on this campaign for one of their clients (FYI: Other than being a amazing rockstar, Muuzi has a very good day job where he's the Interactive Group Head at an ad agency)...

I feel so guilty watching him work himself sick so that he can provide the best possible life for our future baby.. but since i'm not working, all i can really do is make sure this baby is healthy and make sure none of the 'home' situations bother Muuzi.. like throwing out the trash, and stuff like that.

I don't know how i would ever repay him for all the things he has sacrificed for me, and i wish i could contribute more, so then maybe he wouldn't have to work so hard... but if i know my man, he never does anything half heartedly. Be it work, Comida, the band, or family... he always gives out 100%, or at least the best he possibly can.

I just wish, people didn't take advantage of his kindness, and big heart... and actually start appreciating everything he does for people, because i feel that people tend to expect certain things from him without regard to how he's hoping with the pressure of expectations.

My husband is the best man i've ever known in my life... and it's about time people recognize that.

The list is long and extremely anxiety inducing, being how i'm already very panicky about the limited amount of time i have left. Things in Bold are all the things i still have to get within the next few months...

Happy Deepavali peeps..

I spent today watching movies and gossiping with mama and alia, but then was forced to go swimming, because apparently i don't excersize enuff.. Peh.

Mama made me do laps in the pool.. Something about loosening my pelvic muscles and making it easier for labour.. Blablabla.. It did feel awesome to be in the water tho.. I felt light as a feather. Which is amazing at my current weight of almost 90kgs. I was amazed that my swimsuit still fit.

I usually look forward to public holidays cuz it usually means i get to spend time with Muuzi.. But unfortunately he had work and band rehearsals and more work ( it's now 12.45am and he's still at work.. Boo!)..

He did make it home for dinner with the family, which is one of the perks of us living so near to his office.. :)

We even entertained some guest for dinner.. Muuzi's mom and youngest brother came over, and then Azlee and Izhan dropped by and 'tried' to finish what remained of the food...

I think i might have eaten too much because my tummy feels like its gonna explode.. But honestly, it feels like this most of the time now days.. Even Muuzi was suprised how big my stomach is now. Seems so unnatural, yet feels quite normal. Weird really..

My biggest fear at the moment is Stretch Marks.. So i've been lathering up on lotion and cream like it's going out of fashion.. So far it's working, hopefully it stays that way.

Something that i recently discovered during my pregnancy is that It's so infuriatingly difficult to find decent affordable maternity wear..

Everything is either too makcik, too flowery and frilly, or makes you look like a circus tent.. not to mention it's SO expensive!!

I'm talking about RM125 for a bloody maternity shirt that has no brand.. and looked like it was recently shipped from china. Being the cheapskate that i am... it was incredibly hard for me to find proper/stylish not so frilly maternity wear (in KL).

When i went to Jakarta last July (during my 4th months of pregnancy) with my husband and in laws to visit Dalmar, and Muuzi was intent on getting me some proper maternity wear to ensure i would not go naked for the next few months.. because seriously, at RM150 per top, i was seriously considering just wearing a burlaps sack until the baby is born.

Lucky for me, we found some really great bargains in the indo equivalent jusco, Matahari... and their inhouse brand called St. Yves mom, honestly i can tell you almost ALL my maternity wear is from here.. on that trip alone, i bought two polo shirts, three pairs of elastic maternity pants, 4 tops and 1 dress for less than RM350 (1 million rupiahs)...

Not only was it dirt cheap, but the material of the clothes were of good quality, and the cutting of the shirts weren't circus like, but actually slimming (ironically) and i always get good reviews whenever i wore them out..

You probably can't tell that i'm 7months pregnant in this picture... wearing my fave maternity shirt and stretchy pants.

I liked the brand so much, i hunted the store down with Mashi's help when i went to Medan recently, and got a few more tops. :D

Anyway, fast forward a few months from July and i was faced with my second physical change, which were my already big boobs, turning into gigantic melons... frankly, till today i'm amazed that i can stand upright with my now, E-cup boobs and ever expanding belly...

Speaking of E cup boobs... i recently discovered it is almost freaking impossible to find 85E cup bra's... Everytime i do find them, i end up buying 2-3 pairs... because i know it's simply a bitch to find my size.

Now my latest and most recent hell is trying to find E cup nursing bra's that DOES NOT cost RM200 a piece.. because i 'plan' to breastfeed my baby (apparently it is a big deal to everyone that i do this).. and it's about time i find some nursing bra's/attire because my little sucker will be here sooner than we know it... and it's SOO frustrating that i can't find nursing bra's my size.. the girl at the triumph counter gave me wireless C cup bra and told me to 'Try lah'.. being hormonal and frustrated i almost slapped her.

I haven't been a C cup since high school... what makes you think that i could even try to pull one off now?? It's like trying to wear a SMALL when you know you are an X-LARGE.. so silly.

Anyway, yesterday Muuzi took me out and told me he wanted to get me a maternity dress.. i'm guessing it's for the baby shower that he's planning in secret.. he's not good at hiding things. I went along with it, only to be annoyed again at the selection of maternity wear in KL.. Even Muuzi got frustrated and finally we gave up and had some drinks to cool down.

Then i persuaded Muuzi to go to Forever 21, i mean, if i can't find a maternity dress, might as well check out some nice sundresses that will do the job. As usual, F21 never disappoints. Although they don't have a maternity section (they do in the US btw).. i found some lovely sundresses which i found flattering..

I ended up getting 2 out of the 3 dresses above. :P My husband spoils me sometimes...

The unfortunate circle of life...

Today... me, alia, ezani and mama went to visit my grand aunt, tok Hawa (my tok Adam's sister) at University Hospital.

She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, and sadly the cancer has reached her vital organs and brain...

I went to UH expecting the worst, but i was surprised she was still talkative and would laugh at our jokes despite half her body being paralyzed... Tok Hawa even made a joke about the doctor asking her whether she smoked cigarettes or drank alcohol, for her to end up with this stage of cancer... somehow she found this hilarious, because she is so pious, and has never done any of those things... Heck, she even puasa enam and rejab every single year without fail, since i can remember.

In ways, she reminds me so much of Tok Adam's personality, and find myself missing him whenever Tok Hawa is around. I remember when i was 12 years old, we stayed with her in Johor Bahru for a few months.. at the time i was about to take my UPSR exams, and there was this 14 year old boy, Muzaffar, that lived next door who used to come over to Tok Hawa's house to deliver me love letters. It was so hilarious how she would encourage me to talk to him, since i was super shy, but then my Tok Adam would chase him away... :P

I know she's old and stuff, but part of me wishes that she doesn't have to go... but realistically i know she doesn't have long before it's her time to go meet Allah swt and maybe keep Tok Adam company til the rest of us catch up.

I also wish that she could at least meet Mahdi, before she leaves us... and maybe she can tell Tok Adam how adorable his new cicit is. :(

Ok i'm gonna stop here, cuz honestly i'm bawling my eyes out in front of this laptop...

30 weeks in....

OMG, i am just freaking out...

My mind is just counting down the 10 weeks like crazy, and suddenly our doctor tells us the baby might come 2 weeks earlier than expected...

That means i might only have 8 WEEKS before i meet my little man! OMGEEEEEEE!!!

There is still so much to do, the 'nursery' is pretty much still a storeroom, the house isn't baby proofed, the hospital bag isn't packed (to be fair, apparently i only need this on the 35th week onwards), worst thing is, we haven't even had our baby shower yet and i'm stressing out if we are even gonna have time to throw one.. especially since Muuzi wants to organize it without me and he's not giving me any details on the planning.

I will kill him (or least, not talk to him for a long time), if i have the baby before he gets to throw the baby shower. -_-

Blogshops are EVIL

As a stay-at-home wife, i have recently succumbed to the pressures of online shopping.

My most recent haunt is this adorable little blogshop that sells baby clothes called Modern Munchkin. It's so evil, i have decided to forget my Maybank2u password so that i don't end up buying the entire store.

To be fair, i haven't really bought anything significant for the baby yet... just a few onesies that i couldn't live without, and those adorable Freddie the Frog shoes i bought in Medan.

People keep telling me that i'll get lots of clothes/stuff from the baby shower (whenever that is)... but i really feel that i can't depend on people to give me stuff i need but i'm also afraid to buy too much stuff that might end up not being used because the rate that babies grow are super unpredictable, and also i have tons of awesome friends and family, who WILL probably end up giving me tons of stuff anyway.

I'll probably put a hold on the shopping cart, until after the baby shower... then start listing the things i still need/want.

But seriously, how do i say no to things like THIS!!??

Too cute to resist.

Darn it, I need a day job, or at least some form of distraction to get me thru these next few weeks.

Finally, after months of pining over the new iOS update, it's finally here!

Took friggin 4 hours to update my bloody ipod.. Of course they make u update your safari and itunes first before actually downloading the iOS software... Which then takes another hour to download and another few hours to backup, install and update..

Finally now, it's done.. I'm actually writing this post via my ipod, while lying down and listening to the best of Mozart (classical music is good for the unborn.. Seems to be working cuz he's kicking up a storm)

Less than 9 weeks to go til we meet our little man. I'm so excited but i still cringe at the thought of pushing a tiny someone out of my *uknowwhat*..

Speaking of cringe-inducing things.. Have you watched Siti Nurhaliza's new 'Falling in Love' mtv?

It's so beyond bad.. From the purple fedora, with matching trench coat.. To the unorganized flash-mobbing.. Even the location of the shoot (fountain pavillion?? Are u serious? Gila port hipsters lepak) was terrriiiblee!! I get that it's a dance song.. And i get that Dato Siti couldn't make a club scene type videoclip.. but everything about that videoclip was so so wrong! Urgh.

Rockin Rockaway weekend...

This weekend was frickin Awesome!!!

Me and Muuzi spent the weekend at Palace of the golden horses, where they hosted the rockaway press conference and all the international acts. The hotel was heavenly, the detailing around the hotel was so intricate and beautiful.. I was totally geeking out about all the little horse statues and carvings..

Love. Love. Love.

Anyway the reason we were there was so Muuzi could work on Rockaway..

Rockaway itself, was super hectic.. Luckily i managed to get into the press conference to meet The Used in person.. And i got to see them play an acoustic set. Honestly, They are seriously the nicest bunch of guys, and lead singer Bert is one super hilarious dude.

On Rockaway day, Muuzi had to get up super early to collect One Buck Short's new album.. So i just hung out around the hotel and went swimming..

Alia, Ezani and mama came by and hung out at the hotel with me and had some room service before the concert.. Since Rockaway is a 12 hour festival and i'm insanely pregnant, we didn't do an all day fiesta which i'm used to.. We got to the venue at 8 just in time to see All time low's last two songs..

It was really fun to be out with friends again. It was especially fun to see my Muuzi shine like the rockstar he is.... I kept beaming thinking of how much i am so proud of my baby daddy. :)

All in all.. the night was a blast, not to mention a giant success for OBS and the organizers.. All the acts did an amazing job performing, I especially enjoyed The Used' super stellar performance... i enjoyed every second. Even the wet rainy bits. :)

Great company, Great music + Baby Daddy rocking out like a rockstar = One awesome night.

When me and Muuzi started going out bout 3 years ago he introduced me to the most interesting couple i've ever met..

OBS ex-bassist, Izal and his chinese gf Leng @ Barbara Lam..

Izal was crazy and spontaneous and Leng was very put together.. They were true opposites in my book. But i suppose thats what made them an awesome couple in the first place..

Yesterday, on the 7th of october.. At izal's folks house in kota kemuning, they finally got hitched!

Medan tripping!

So last weekend me, mashi and 6 of my puteri wilayah girls went to Medan, Indonesia...

The trip was soooo much fun, and everything i could have hoped for. We all had our hair done, went for spa & facials and did a LOT of shopping!

We went to the Pasar Ikan (which is really pasar kain...) and hit mostly malls, and had awesome nasi padang, minang, and makanan sunda.

Will update more pics when i get around to it :p (which usually means never).

I could depend on the person i really need right now..

But all i keep getting from her is negativity, paranoia and superstition..

How is telling me that she had a dream that she was holding a baby with no hands suppose to make me feel? Or that theres a 'jin' following me around trying to take my baby away..

I wish she'd stop forcing the idea of a c-section on me.. Just because you did it, doesn't mean doing it any other way is stupid.

Seriously, i wish she could just listen to the things she says before she says them..

I feel like i really really need my mother right now, someone to tell me everything will be ok, not someone to put more negativity in my already pro-negative mind.

or based on my experience, Happy IKEA day.

IKEA was crazy packed today, amazing to see people treat it like a family theme park instead of a furniture store.

I saw one family taking what looked to me like a hari raya family portrait, in one of the mock living rooms. 0_o like really??

Anyway, the reason me and Muuzi were in IKEA, is to finally get the sofa ~~i've~~ we've been pining for...

I'm getting this Ektorp 3 seater sofa in white.. planning to get a bunch of
colorful pillows to brighten it up. :D

The good and bad thing about going with Muuzi is that he is an impulse buyer, he usually doesn't like to window shop, think about for ages, before finally buying something, unlike me. It saves a lot of mental planning that i'm famous for. Anyway, on top of getting the sofa, we ended up getting a TV stand, bedroom closet, bookshelf and pantry shelf. Muahahahahhaa.. I love my husband. He spoils me so. ^_^

I CAN'T WAIT for everything to be delivered on monday... aaaaaaaaa!!

24 weeks later

Tho it may sound like a horror zombie flick, it's now been 24 weeks since i became pregnant.Gosh time flies.

I've been told that my tummy doesn't look as big as it should be at this point, but i contribute that to slimming clothes because honestly it's pretty big to me.At this point i'm feeling the regular kicks and other people have felt it too, mostly Muuzi and Alia.

In two weeks i'll be reaching my 7th month mark.. and if all goes well, on the 1st-3rd October, i'll be in Medan with my girls for a mak datin holiday (mostly shopping and spas) ..I CAN'T WAIT!!!! :DI've promised myself that after Medan i'm going to fully dedicate myself to resting & nesting to get ready for the baby's arrival.

Still so many decisions to be made... like baby shower details, where to deliver, where to stay after delivery (during pantang).. urgh.Time seems to be moving at lightning speed and i'm just holding on for dear life!

Home improvements..

Since i'm readily unemployed and have nothing much to do daily..i stare at walls and plot on how they would look like if i had my way. Yesterday i spent the day mindlessly browsing thru IKEA picking out things i would get in my head, should i be able to afford it or easier said, should Muuzi allow me to buy it with his money :D...

Our new house is starting to shape up... just that we don't have a sofa yet, so its very japanese when people come over and sit on the floor.My Fave area of the house so far is my reading nook in the corner of the living room.

The carpet is super lush and so comfy to nuzzle in this corner to read or watch TV from a distance.

Currently, as you can see, im reading is What To Expect: When you're expecting... This book is super informative and is my go-to guide if i ever have doubts (i also have the iPod app.. which is SUPERB and highly recommended by me to anyone who's expecting)

Anyway, other than the obvious need for a new sofa, we also need a wardrobe unit for our room, cuz as of now, our clothes are on a tiny bookshelf, while the rest of our stuff is still in several suitcases.

Problem is, me and Muuzi can't seem to agree on what type to get, and the ones we do agree on would probably cost us an arm and a leg.

Plus our room is really tiny and won't be able to fit in a giant wardrobe unit like this, sigh... maybe someday. ^_^

Alright enuff jabbering for one day... Alia's on her way here and we're going out for dinner! Hurrah. I'll update more on the house as/when it progresses. Ciao!

Selamat hari raya peeps!We had an awesome 1st day raya in tok's house in Taman Melawati, the whole family was around and we took lots of picture.I've been having a craving for ketupat nasi impit and kuah kacang for the last 2 weeks of puasa.. so to finally have it on pagi raya was so satisfying!!!My tok makes the best kuah kacang ever!!Unfortunately i over did it again and latter fell into a ketupat koma. But it was soooo worth it! :DHere's some pics i took using my ipod touch, the pics in the camera tak upload lagi.... maybe will update that later on.

I've been having so much fun playing with Muuzi's little nephew Dalmar,

He's such a sweet heart and makes such a good practice baby. :P

He rarely ever cries and is super chipper and likes to talk a lot... plus he's super smart for a 3 month old. Playing with Dalmar makes me excited to meet my own baby, i wonder how he's gonna be like. Hopefully my baby will be as happy a baby as his cousin. :)

I guess we'll find out in a few months! Ngeeee..

We are nearing the end of ramadhan now and i'm getting my self ready for the immense pressure and awkwardness of big family gatherings..

Most of my relatives haven't seen me pregnant yet.. So thats going to be tons of fun. -_-

I dont know how im going to handle people voiding my personal space and touching my stomach ever so often.

Some aunty tried to kiss my belly just the other day. I bet if the baby had felt it, he'd think it was awkward too.

We had the in-laws over for dinner today. Its our first mkn besar in the new house and im glad to report it went well.. Unfortunately i ate to much pasta and am now suffering the consequences of my actions. -_-

I think Im gonna give up pasta for the next few months.. Urgh.

Things i've learned recently, which i didn't know before..

I found i have a B+ blood type.
It's almost impossible to find a reasonably priced E cup bra... (i really hope my boobs will shrink back to normal soon)
You can drink just a small glass of water, yet will still need to wake up 3-4 times a night to pee.
The Big Bang Theory is awesome... thanks to mashi, i had a marathon of all 4 seasons in a week. I'm so addicted to these nerds!!

i no longer have the ability to stay up past 11pm. Realizing this was very disappointing and made me feel very old. But then i might not get much sleep once the baby is born, so it might be a blessing after all.

Our UniFi was finally installed today!!

So excited to get an internet connection that doesn't totally suck... plus our condo's satellite connection also sucks, so we haven't had any TV what-so-ever.

So now we get all our TV via HyppTV. Hurrah.

The most exciting thing for me was having a landline installed.. I haven't had a landline since.. well, let's just say it's been A LONG TIME. Somehow having a landline made it feel like this is a real family home. :)

An the anxiety creeps in...

I've been having some trouble sleeping lately, being pregnant for me has been an emotional roller coaster..

The anxiety of worrying about my little one.. the constant checking of baby forums on various things that worry me, like the way i sleep, or how hot can my showers be, or the types of food i've been eating...

There's more but i can't remember..

Anyway, i've been an emotional wreck, but not many people to talk to about it, cuz i don't want to put my negative feelings out there..

I'm terrified most days.. and as we count down towards the due date, i get worse.

The weird thing is, i'm not even scared of the whole birthing process.. but more like concern if the baby is going to be ok and healthy, or if he'll have 11 fingers instead of 10.. and even if he is born healthy and perfect despite me and everything i am, am i going to be a good mom?

*more proof of my 'emotional wreckness'.. i'm getting all choked up just thinking about this now*

Honestly, I don't know.. i guess we'll find out in about 19 weeks.

*sigh.. it's ok baby... i know how you feel. :( *

Been in the new house for over a week now, and i gotta say, it's looking up.

We had a COWAY water filter installed, which has been super helpful during these fasting months.. We've managed to unpack most of our things, minus most of our clothes because we don't have a proper wardrobe unit yet..

On saturday we finally had time off to go swimming and try out our condo swimming pool.. was awesome!

Because of all the extra weight i've been carrying, i have been feeling suffocated and everything that could possibly ache is aching.. turns out all i needed was a quick dip in the pool and feel weightless for a few minutes. :)

Anyway, i got to get ready right now, i need to go meet Alia in KL and to Tok's for buka puasa.. tata!

I'm almost half way thru this pregnancy (week 20!!), and it's has never felt more real...

Me and Muuzi are starting to research birth options, and various hospital costs.. Ok, more like Muuzi is researching that, cuz i can't bare to think about the immense amount of pain that i would have to endure come the next 20 weeks.

So i have been given the wonderful task of planning the nursery... OH JOY!!!

Since i am ~~unemployed~~ a stay at home mom... i'll have plenty of time to stare at these bare walls and plot their demise...

There is a problem however... i've decided on a color scheme, but i can't decide on a theme...

The color i've chosen is a light grey wall, with hints of yellow and blue highlights.

Isn't this gorgeous? :D

So the problem with the theme is i'm stuck between Owl's, Yellow Duckies or Elephants.

I've been happy beyond words today, we had our check up with the Dr. today and apparently (despite me) everything with the baby is going very well.

The best part was when we found out that our future baby is a boy!

I always had this idea of my kids having a big brother, eventho i've never actually had one, but i love the idea of a big brother protecting all this little brothers and sisters. :)

Muuzi was so excited during the scanning he could hardly control himself... it still freaks me out seeing him move around inside me, but from what i can see the baby already acts like a mini Muuzi, proudly showing off his little bits to the Dr... hehe. I can't wait to meet my little boy.

I'm terrified, but oddly excited to be a mother.

It's gonna be another busy week, because we are moving on friday, so there's still a lot to do... haih, can't wait to be settled in the new house and finally have time to rest!!

It's been an insanely busy weekend, with packing up the house, bachelorette parties, last minute driving classes, Tsar & Zachary's engagement, and stalking Jared Leto at MTV World Stage...

It was a insanely fun, but incredibly tiring weekend.

Today i had my JPJ driving test, and i was still recovering from my weekend.

But luckily, i still managed to PASS!!!

FINALLY, I, Ayesha Frances Adam have a drivers license.

I know how pathetic that sounds. But im super proud of myself. :D So Suck it! Hehe... Now Muuzi is all upset cuz he has to stick a 'P' sticker on his car, which is "so uncool". Haha

Had a wonderful day yesterday...

It was me and Muuzi's 1st wedding anniversary.. usually we don't really bother with the whole anniversary thing, but we figured next year we'll be up to our knees in baby poo to do anything with just the two of us.

Thanks to the #Bersih rally in KL, the drive the Midvalley was smooth sailing.. best part was the parking lot was practically empty and we had our choice of parking (which we all know is rare in midvalley).

We bought tix to watch Super 8 and X-Men first class.... Since Muuzi's been really busy with work and the band, he hasn't had much time to watch movies at the cinema so we made it a back to back.

After buying tix we went to get some lunch at Itallianese.. we realised that one of our first dates was here in the midvalley Itallianese, and the best part was that the same waiter that served us back then was still there..

Me and Muuzi are extra excited, and Muuzi even already decided on a name if it's a boy, so i thought that it's only fair that i choose the girls name...

I really want it to be a boy, the idea of my kids having a big brother has always been my dream situation.

I apologize for my lack of updates of late.

It's not that i've been busy, it's just that i didn't have much to say.

Well, that's not true either, i have a lot of things to say, most of which i've kept pretty much to myself.

Today is the last day of my first trimester. Which simply means i'm three months into my pregnancy and i'm feeling a lot (A LOT) better...

The ~~morning~~ ALL DAY sickness i've been experiencing has finally given up in making my life miserable.

Me and Muuzi are planing to move by the end of july, so im pretty excited about that.

I've been unemployed for the last month, and i have to say, having ample free time on your hands isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I really miss working. I really need to get some personal projects started or i will lose my mind... or worse, be a permanent couch vegetable. (i.e: potato)

Yesterday i turned 26,

It was a pretty horrid day, i was horribly sick, was up to my arms length in vomit, and couldn't eat much after that.

Not really the perfect start into turning 26 that i had thought it would be.

Muuzi tried to make it up to me by getting me my fave Cupcake Chic cupcakes.

I have the best husband in the world. Even on my worst of days, you always make me feel better baby. :)

Ps: on my next birthday we'll need to save a piece of cupcake for baby (yet to be named) :)

Muuzi was in Singapore for the Music Matters Conference.. so i spent some much needed family bonding time with my mom and sister... and ezani.

We watched Kungfu Panda on Friday night.. then had a sleepover at Alia and Ezani's new house in Puncak Damansara.

I get tired a lot lately, apparently pregnant woman experience a lot of fatigue in the first trimester. Probably from the change of hormones and diet.

Neway i was out like a light, and woke up pretty late on saturday. We had originally planned to start the day early and make some demo cookies for tok and the rest of the family to try... Safe to say the actual baking only took place around 4pm. :P

Eventually we managed to perfect the recipe to make the perfect Choc chop cookie but forgot to take a picture of it before we ate them all. :P

On Sunday, we headed down to Melawati with our batch of cookies and had a mini celebration with the family...

Alia got me a Red Velvet cake from Just Heavenly which is funny cuz Aunty Wani and the girls also made a Red Velvet cake from scratch. :P

Unemployment here i come!!

Today is my last day in my current office.

It wasn't suppose to be today, because i was supposed to serve 3 months after quitting but about 3 weeks after i tendered my resignation they found out i was pregnant and offered me an early release from my contract. Citing if i were to stay on the full 3 months i would be obliged to work weekends and late nights like usual regardless of my current 'condition'.

I mean, no doubt in my mind it was a shitty move on their part. I have often heard that pregnancies is basically the END of an advertising career... that is why most* of the women in advertising aren't married, or if they are will be 40 and childless.

(*i say most because there are some people who still make it work.. but mostly it's very difficult)

Anyway, as you can see, i took the early release deal anyway.. i really can't be bothered to stay on if i'm going to be a 'burden' to the team, with my constant morning sicknesses and inability to tolerate the teams strong cigarette stench..

Well, It was fun working here, until it wasn't anymore :) I'll probably miss the boys, and the few friends i've made here.

But now it's time for some rest and relaxation until i figure out what i'm going to do with the rest of my life!! woooooooooo!

ps: Dear Johnny Depp, please save your career and don't do another Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Cus the last one sucked pretty bad, if you absolutely must do one, bring Orlando Bloom pls? :P

Who knew getting knocked up is an awesome way to lose weight!

So far i've lost 5kg's, from all the nausea and ~~morning~~ ALL-DAY-LONG sickness. But fret not, my Dr said it's a normal thing to loose weight in the first trimester, followed by the giant weight gain in the second. Erk.

I'm expected to put on an extra 12kg's during the later stages of pregnancy. Basically i will be the size of a small hippo. :(

A mother's sacrifice i guess.

Right now, i feel horrible, i can't eat anything. Either i order something, and can only eat half or i am finally able to finish a meal, and it all comes back out. Gross.

On the bright side, my lovely sister-in-law Dona (muuzi's brothers wife), had her baby boy in Jakarta yesterday. :)

So kinda shows me all this is worth so much in the end.

If you've been keeping tabs on me, thru twitter or on facebook, you'd know that i have recently found out that i am 7 weeks pregnant (today marks).

It's awesomely amazing news, if i hadn't recently quit my job, in hopes of finding a better work environment and benefits. peh.

Anyway, Muuzi and i are deliriously excited. I know it's a little early to get all maternal.. but i already feel like my life has changed forever.

Yesterday, me and entourage (of Muuzi and Mama) went to our first ever Doctors appointment...

The Dr was awesome, she was very informative and very clear about what we're suppose to do and what will happen during the pregnancy. Which was great, because we are clueless.

Then came my fave part... picture time!

The second picture is a sonogram of the fetal heartbeat... which was really loud and fast, showing that it's healthy and growing. :)

At this stage, i know i'm not really suppose to broadcast to the world about the baby, since well, it's not really a baby yet. But i hope and i pray that he (i want a boy) will continue being healthy and grow... maybe you could help pray for him too. please? :)

What a dream boat, i've been a fan of Henry Cavill ever since i saw him on a episode of Tudors is was prolly the only episode of Tudors i've ever watched, it's like glorified porn (like all HBO originals).

The NEW-est Superman Reboot is going to be directed by Zack Snyder (of 300 & Sucker Punch). I'm a sucker for comic book movies, so im excited! Can't wait for this to come out. :D

Other Comic book movies that i'm waiting for are the NEW Spiderman Reboot (Andrew Garfield WOOT!), Xmen - first class, Thor, and Captain America - The First Avenger. :D

But non of these movies could compete with my dying anticipation to watch the FINAL Harry Potter movie of ALL TIME.. *sad* *excited* OMGWTFWEI!!

Gemuk. Gila.

No, I'm not being emotional about it, but yes being fat is driving me crazy... i keep complaining like a bitch about it. But NOT really doing anything about it.

I tried to hop on the Diet Train, i was working for a bit till i fell off and began binging miserably on deliciously satisfying fatty foods. EVIL.

I joined a gym in hopes that finally having to PAY for fitness will encourage me to start paying more attention to my deteriorating body, but i have yet to step foot in the gym while blindly paying the RM185 a month out of guilt. I'm so Pathetic. Seriously.

Anyway, today i bravely stepped on the scale that i had been avoiding this pass few months. No surprise the number shown was the largest it has ever been for me – 89kg's.

No one else to blame but myself really. I let myself get this way.

It does seem superficial to some but my weight gain has changed me in a way, i'm shy around new people, i don't like to go out as much as i used to, my self esteem has taken a turn for the worst and really, it wasn't that great to begin with..

I'm becoming someone that doesn't want to be around people, and in return people are starting to dislike being around me.

Even Muuzi has seen these changes in me, and has more than once told me that i've become a negative force that is just miserable to be around. Summore it's not just my attitude but my total health in general is suffering, i get shortness of breath when i walk up to my office on the first floor, my back hurts constantly because of all the extra weight and according to some people i am starting to develop a snoring habit..... i suppose that's where i draw the line.

Anyhow, this has to end! Why put it off right?

I miss being happy about buying new clothes and going shopping, now i mostly just cringe at the thought of entering a shop, since size is always an issue.

How to choose the right Blog Name.

#1: Make a checklist.
When choosing your personal blog title, you want the title to be original, inform blog readers what your blog is going to be about, catch the attention of your readers, maintain a short length, and include the right keywords for search engine traffic. Make sure you capture all six points when considering your blog title, assuming that you already have a blog topic chosen.

#2: Make a list of blog titles.
Write down possible blog names related to your niche on a blank piece of paper in order to choose a personal blog title. Then walk away from the list of blog names for a few hours. When you come back to your list, add some more ideas before walking away once more for another hour or two. Come back to your list, read it over, and choose the blog title that sounds the most appealing.

#3: Make a list of song names.

Make a list of all your favorite songs that relate somewhat to your blog topic. Song names may inspire a personal blog title of your liking. I BOUGHT A DOMAIN!!!

Thanks to GROUPON, i found this deal to get a domain for RM40... if u have known me forever, you would remember my brief domain www.ayeshadam.com (now defunct), which was my online design portfolio. Which is basically useless now since i don't like uploading my work online anymore.

But now i'm thinking of moving this blog to a [dot]com... Hopefully the move would make me revive the passion i use to have to blog, also since im paying for the domain, it'll be a total waste if i neglect it.

Problem is coming up with a solid timeless domain name... a lot of things factor in a blog/websites name.

I came up with Tragic Telenovela roughly 6-7 years ago when i was 18 years old, it was when my life was just starting, mostly broke and penniless, emotional, and rebelious. i had started university and i was in my first overly (of many) dramatic relationship, I had reached out to my long lost step siblings from my estranged fathers side, and i had that core of amazing friends to guide me thru my rough patches.

Well, basically my life felt like a 'spanish telenovela', full with plot twist, bad acting, multiple choices, comic relief and the never ending hope for a dashing 'Fernando' aka Prince Charming to save me from my obscure existence... then i grew up, and realized that life is actually pretty awesome, and i didn't need Prince Charming to save me... in fact he'd be lucky if i even gave him the time of day.

So, now being ~~grown up~~ ~~older~~ WISER! I don't feel the same way... I'm married, and i don't feel that my life would be turned upside down over small issues... i now know that however bad it gets, with a good group of friends around you, and the love of your FAMILY (something i never appreciated before), it gets better.

That being said, i definitely have to change my blog name if i am to move to a [dot]com, the problem is finding the write name that will be TIMELESS, so i can keep my blog through out my life, and when i have kids and grandkids, they can read what a total mess i was, and how i grew up eventually. :P

Any suggestions for good names?

Carrots, Eggs, & Coffee

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked,
'Tell me what you see.'

'Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked,'What does it mean, mother?'

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavour. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity?

Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

To my tragically ignored blog,

It's not that i don't love you anymore, it's just that, .... well i don't really have a reason really. Talking about myself, and stuff that happens to me doesn't give me the same thrill that it used to.

Firstly, it's probably because my husband is sorta 'well known', so i can't really openly share our lives because, it might end up (touch wood) on some obscure gossip rag such as OhBulan or (godforbid) Mangga!.. and excluding him from my post about my life, is kinda like censoring 75% of my life already.

Secondly, the remaining 25% of my life without Muuzi is just freaking boring. Late nights and weekends at the office, my driving classes on the weekend when im NOT working, and occasionally lepaking with my now one bestfriend, who's usually busy doing her own thing anyway.

Even Alia and Mama are too busy to hangout with me, frankly i've seen Alia ONCE, since she moved out after the wedding. Mama pulak, just started her own business with her friend Devi (from Devi's corner bangsar) and is now selling her famous roast chicken from 6pm onwards. So with me working from morning to night and her working from evening til midnight. I rarely see her either. I haven't had time to go to see tok in Melawati either, which i REALLY should do. :( haih...

I wish there was more days in a week and more hours in a day,
I wish i were rich, and didn't need to work,
i wish i could freaking DRIVE!
I wish i had a car...
I wish i had a proper topic to talk about in this blog post rather the same old excuses post about time management. Duh.

Hello world!

Im back at work today after a week of CNY holidays... I don't even know why we came back today. No one really feels like working today (clients also never called today.. im assuming they also holidaying still). Since the lack of work was so bad the team spent the day playing poker and had a mini CNY pizza party.

My week long holiday was pretty uneventful... spent most of it at home alone playing plants vs zombies on the mac, while Muuzi went to meetings/jamming/meetings and my ONE best friend spent time with her boyfriend. I'm sad and pathetic, i know.

Then on Thursday, me and Alia went to melawati to help with some last minute preparations for the wedding.

OMG, i realize actually never announce it here.. my not-so-baby sister Alia and my fellow VR nerd Ezani got married last friday after a 4 year+ romance. Congrats guys!

The wedding was tiring, i was maid of honor... it's was fun tho. Since most of Ezani's friends are also my friends, it became sort of a reunion thing. :)

Diet Day - 16

Muuzi and me are 16 days into our diet... and so far things look good.

We've both loss around 3-4 kgs each.. and are making great progress. We are just taking the diet slowly, and not really forcing ourselves on being too strict with what we eat, but we are still losing weight gradually so thats good.. :)

Alia, being the over achiever that she is loss a whopping 6.7kgs (you can read about that in her journey blog)

The family has really got the hang of this eating healthy lifestyle. Best thing about it is that i have started cooking more... and i wasn't really sure i could cook anything other than pasta/maggi. :P

But on monday i made chicken cordon bleu all by myself!! I was so proud, and honestly it tasted pretty decent considering it was low fat cheese. hehe.

Not mine, but this is what it's suppose to look like.

Next i'm planning to make chicken stuffed with mushrooms and some cheese. YUM!!!

I absolutely adore cats, but Alia and Muuzi wont let me have one, sbb 'busuk'. Boo! But then again Alia's moving out soon, and maybe then i can have my cat. Yaaaay!!!

Harituh ada office cat tippy. Tp dia dah kene curi with one of my co-workers. Now Tippy is forced to be a stay-at-home cat. Boo!

I would LOVE to own a purebred cat. Not that i find street cats anyless cuter. I just LOVE the uniqueness of these purebreds.

My utmost FAVOURITE breed of all time, The Toyger is a SUPER rare breed, highly intelligent and social, their markings are a strong black and orange gold stripes like a tiger!

There's even a gorgeous blue-silver colour which is incredible.

The Doraemon of cats, seemingly earless, this kitties are beyond adorable with their kittens, and grow up to be pretty funny looking cats. But still SO CUTE!

I LOVE Bengals!!! My fave big cat has always been the cheetah. I even have a name planned out already, Cheetara!!

Im living the life of a 'adult'.

i'm 26 this year *cringe*, i'm married, have a full time job, and have bills to pay. I'm suppose to be a grown up.. right?

Honestly i am still struggling to find out what to do with my life...

I love what i do, but at some point i would like to start a family.. and the advertising gig and it's unpredictable working hours might be challenging.

Hmm.. well, we'll just have to wait and see i guess. Family life is a long time away. :)

Urgh, Yuck, Aah, WHUT!?...

Urgh!!!

My whole body is aching from todays misadventure. Azlee and Izhan woke us up at 8am to go to the Gym at Empire Subang.

Muuzi was still only half awake when we arrived at the gym. an hour or so of rigorous working out, we all went swimming at the gym pool.

btw, salt water pools. Yuck!!

After a couple of laps, the boys went to the sauna, and i enjoyed the peace and warmth of the steam room. Aah. so relaxing, i almost fell asleep. :)

Had some good ol protein at Kenny Rogers. then went jln2 at Empire to find bday presents for Azlee twin sisters.

Got home at 4-ish.. terus passed out til about 7. huhu.

Then Muuzi made me dinner ^_^ and we watched Ana Raffali win Anugerah Juara Lagu (WHUT!?) while doing some work..

I have to tell u, the comments on twitter about AJL were quite hilarious, some were really mean, some were just, and some were... well see for yourselves at twitter #ajl25.

All in all, im quite surprised with the results, a lot of people did better than Ana, i think. But no reason to get overly hostile about it. People on twitter need to chill.

So the family and me survived week one of the dukan diet attack phase.

The weight loss tally,
Muuzi lost - 2.2 kgs
Alia - 3.6 kgs
Me - 1.6 kgs
Mama - dropped out of the contest when she was faced with food at a friends house.

Alia! you are the biggest LOSER! woot! :P

My weight loss is the least because 1. Im smaller than the other two. 2. I might have cheated... just a little 3. the other two have gym memberships that they use on a regular basis.

That being said, 1.6 kgs is not a bad feat really, Yay ME!!

According to MR Dukan, the creator of Dukan Diets... i'm suppose to lose at least 2.6 kgs by tuesday...

but since i've been cheating a lot i've decided to do another week of the attack phase, but this time do it properly. No gummy bears, and reeses peanut butter cups.

If i WE ever buy a house, i hope i can decorate it with a touch of hollywood glamour. Sure it looks a little feminine, but it'll be DARN COZY. You all won't wanna leave my house. Thats how awesome it will be.

Unfortunately for me. Muuzi prefers this ZEN-ish clean type of interior, which is awesome, if you wanna live in a showroom all your life. I say we need a place that feels like home, with all our stuff for show, and CLUTTER! lots of clutter.

He's very adamant about his choice, as i am about mine. Another thing we will have to settle before we get a place of our own. :D

ps: i'm pretty sure i will get my way tho. #justsaying.

Diet or Die.

It is becoming quite obvious to everyone (especially relatives) that i have gained an immense amount of weight. I tried doing something about it, but nothing ever stuck.

Partly because im lazy to follow thru, partly because my family loves to eat and plus my will power is very little. My weight has been increasing gradually due to my stint in MMU earlier this year, then followed by the stress of planning my wedding, the joyous food of the honeymoon, and just the day to day habits.

In this new year me and the family have decided that we need a drastic change in eating habits so we decided to start the Dukan Diet. It's been only 2 days, but everything looks great so far. Hopefully i'll get back to my oldself soon.
